First gear

First gear is used to start from a stop, and also when you want to move slowly. It’s the gear with the lowest gear ratio and highest engine speed.

First gear can be used to climb hills, but this is not recommended for normal driving conditions because it will reduce fuel economy and increase wear on your transmission.

Second gear

Second gear is your high-speed gear. It’s the one you use for driving at highway speeds and passing other cars, so if you’re interested in speeding up or going fast, second is your go-to gear.

Second gear also helps with hill climbing–you can use it to push against gravity while climbing up steep hills, even if they’re too steep for first or third gears to handle on their own. You’ll need a lot of power from your engine to get up these kinds of hills though; otherwise, there may be too much strain on the engine and transmission parts!

Third gear

Third gear is your highway gear. It’s the highest ratio, meaning you’ll be able to go the fastest in third gear and on flat roads. You can also use it for going up hills and rough roads, but it might not be as efficient as first or second gears at those tasks.

Fourth gear

Fourth gear is the highest gear you have on your transmission. You can use it to drive at a higher speed, or when you’re going up a hill or driving in hilly terrain. You can also use fourth gear on highways and in rain.

Reverse gear

reverse gear is used to move backward.

It’s the last gear and it’s used when you are parking, backing up or pulling out of a driveway.
